AEW Rewind: A TNT title shot for independent star, Trent mad at Cody, more!

Don’t have time to follow all of AEW’s online content? Don’t worry. We cover you with AEW Rewind, which will be rewound through snippets of social media and YouTube videos from last week to prepare you for Dynamite tonight.

“Road to Fight for the Fallen” was very good this week to overstate the big show. Cody Rhodes and Arn Anderson discussed Cody’s TNT Championship attitude to get the job done. They put Sonny Kiss as a worthy challenger. FTR wants to clean up the most smelly trash in the tag team division, the Fight Bros. A package similar to the one previously issued for Jon Moxley and Brian Cage was included. There were some additional images added at the end. Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone predict that Moxley will retain.

Arn also teased a future challenger for Cody. The name Warhorse was mentioned.

I heard the name but never saw it before, so I can’t offer any scouting opinions. Here’s a featured video from Warhorse.

Sonny Kiss did an interesting interview with TV Insider (here) about being coached by Dustin Rhodes and Billy Gunn, representing LGBTQ +, and teaming up with Joey Janela. Sonny also has an expected fan for his match against Cody.

It turns out that Trent is still upset that Cody disrespected him in a match with WWE.

Give Trent a chance at the TNT Championship. Trent versus Cody would be the kind of party that could steal the show.

A reminder that Jake Hager has completed his suspension.

I’m curious to know if AEW will pick up the story of how Cody beat Hager to retain the TNT Championship. The ending was questionable, not to mention Dustin’s interference. Cody passed out before the three of them counted? I would like to analyze that moment based on comments. It would be more in line with a sports presentation.

Private party were the guests at A shot of brandi (here). They drank Patron pineapple cocktails and ate shrimp tacos with tequila. It was fun to see Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen clowning around each other.

Being the elite

“This episode lasts about 30 minutes” – Being The Elite, Ep. 212 (here) presented:

  • Elite, Hangman Page and Brandon Cutler checked the email about doing the Chili Ribs commercial. The money supply had many zeros. Enough so that they can finally get out of the wrestling business. Turns out, the email was a week old and only an hour before the deadline. Matt Jackson told the camera that they were drinking too much. He tried to come up with an idea to get them out of this situation.
  • 57 minutes later. Cutler returned with the contract. Matt was the last to sign and stopped on purpose. He ended up banging under the table, and the contract was covered in blood. That made them miss the deadline. They were mad at Matt. Nick wanted to break up to go to a singles race.
  • South Kaz finally found Damascus Hardy. Kaz was broken like Frankie fractured. Kaz wanted to be himself again. He needed Hardy to bring reincarnation water the next time they meet.
  • Colt Cabana was going to approach Kenny Omega, but Hangman Page took Colt to a different room. He advised Colt not to mess with Kenny. It could result in Colt’s murder.
  • Matt Hardy helped Private Party prepare for his title shot. They went back to basics. That led to the Broken Matt Interior Terms. Botch is when a sequence or maneuver does not go as planned.
  • Matt Jackson entered Omega and Cutler with “things”. Matt didn’t want any of those special jelly beans, because he’s Christian AF.
  • Alex Reynolds and John Silver came in to see Kris Buttlander on the ground. She fired fake bullets from her crutch at Silver. Reynolds attempted to recruit her into the Dark Order. She gave Kool-Aid powder to her Chuck Taylor homemade action figure. Statlander rejected the offer at the request of little Chuck.
  • Matt Hardy ran into MJF in the hallway. Money Matt showed cash to insult MJF.
  • Alex Abrahantes returned with Speaking Spanglish. Santana and Ortiz demonstrated payne as a word that means pain in the ass. Ortiz claimed that he put Dasha González under control. Dasha’s super senses listened, so she threw her flip flop a long distance across the sand to hit Ortiz.
  • Super Panda wanted Luchasaurus to train. Panda knows the plan to defeat the elite. Karate Kid training occurred. Luchasaurus was too scared to make a Canadian Destroyer in the pool.
  • The closing scene involved Mr. Brodie Lee and the Dark Order. Reynolds and Silver told him they recruited the Jungle Boy. It turned out to be Griff Garrison. Mister Brodie went crazy and threw a stack of papers at Evil One. That final segment is hilarious and worth watching. Language warning with F-bombs.

We will close with t-shirts and a great photo. FTR, the librarians, best friends and Sue, and Matt Hardy have new rags.

Enjoy the sunset in the background of Joey Janela flying through the air.

What are your predictions for Fight for the fallen? Are you excited about the idea of Warhorse competing against Cody Rhodes? Should the Dark Order host Griff Garrison?
