Added paid color pop editing feature to Google Photos

The next time you dive into the Google Photos editing suite, you’ll see some of the tools behind Pay-Back. As part of the ongoing rollout, Google is adding a new feature to its color popup feature that users can apply to any photo, not just in-depth information. The catch is that you need to subscribe to Google One before you can tweak your photo with the new color pop. When Google first started rolling out the Photo Users feature, it looked like it was making a free tool out of something you paid for earlier, but that’s not the case, according to the company.

A Google spokesperson told Engadget that in Google Photos, ColorPop is a feature that is available for anyone to use for free, with in-depth information (such as portrait mode) for photos, a company spokesperson told Engadget. “As part of the ongoing rollout that began earlier this year, Google One members could apply the feature to more photos of people, including those who do not have in-depth information.”
