Adam Savage vows to fight sister’s rape lawsuit; Former ‘Mythbusters’ star denies ‘rape blob’ claims

Adam Savage faces a lawsuit for rape by his sister due to the New York Child Victims Act, which gave victims the opportunity to appear after the statute of limitations expired.

The former “Mythbusters” star offered a fierce denial of Miranda Pacchiana’s claims on Tuesday and accused her of catching a windfall.

The 51-year-old man’s lawsuit was filed with the Westchester Supreme Court and he claims he assumed the nickname “rape blob” during a childhood game that took place when Ms. Pacchiana was 7-10 years old.

“While I hope my sister gets the help she needs to find peace, this must end,” said the 52-year-old celebrity, speaking through attorney Andrew Brettler, the New York Post reported. “For many years, anyone and anyone who listens has relentlessly and falsely attacked me and other members of my family. By spreading numerous false stories about us in search of a financial bonanza, she has tortured our entire family and distanced herself from all of us. I will fight this unfounded and offensive lawsuit and work to end this once and for all. ”

The lawsuit alleges multiple forms of rape between 1976 and 1979.

Ms. Pacchiana, now a social worker in Newtown, Connecticut, claims that her family acted as if “the abuse didn’t really matter” when it came along.

“Yes, they believed me, but my family members still seemed determined to brush my trauma under the rug,” he said, the newspaper reported. “Over time, I realized that they saw me as the problem to focus on abuse. Not the brother who had abused me.
