The New York Jets are not happy to be running behind Leon Bell in Sunday’s 30-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Belle declined post-game interview requests as the Jets fell 0-5 on the year with five losses coming in by at least 11 points. Instead, he appeared to post subtle notes of frustration on Twitter, “liking” tweets that made him wonder why Bell had only one goal in the passing game against Arizona.
Bell’s resentment has angered head coach Adam Gass.
S.N.Y. By, Gass said Monday he did not appreciate Bell expressing frustration through social media.
“I hate that we go with all this instead of just talking to me about it, but nowadays people want to do this,” Gass said.
Bell carried 13 for 60 yards and caught a pass for seven yards in Arizona’s loss.
No one with the Jets is going to be happy about their current situation. They are a struggling team that already knows they are playing a string with Gas head coach who probably won’t come that season. The frustration is understandable and Gas finds exactly why Bell will be frustrated.
“No, I have not yet had the opportunity to speak with him on those specific topics. That’s it, “Gass explained. “I know he’s disappointed we didn’t win. Not necessarily that he had a goal in the pass game. Only Kinda ended that way because of how they played us. That’s it. All you have to do is try to find a way to move the football move, that’s what we’re trying to do. Not always going exactly as planned.
“I think players get frustrated when they think they should target more or touch more. A lot of people feel that way and we had to go back to work and find ways to get our boys involved. “
