Ellen Lazard, who scored six passes at 166 yards and a Packers win over the Saints in Week 3, has been ruled out indefinitely after undergoing core muscle surgery this week. According to ESPN’s Adam Shafter. Green Bay, without Lazard, will be looking to keep its unbeaten start intact Monday night against the Winless Falcons.

The former Aproof Rookie, 6-foot-5, 227-pound Lazard out of Iowa State signed with the Packers in December 2018, after spending most of his rookie season on the Jaguars’ practice squad. After catching just one pass that season, Lazard caught 35 passes and three touchdowns for 477 yards last season. Lazard is currently the Packers ’leading receiver, with 254 yards and two touchdowns at 13 receptions. Lazard’s 19.5 yards per catch this season is four yards above his career average.

After Lazard is out, he will have more time for Marquis Weldes-Scantling, Darius Shepherd and Malik Taylor. Valdes-Scantling has scored eight passes and three games for 165 yards, while Shepherd and Taylor have yet to catch a pass.

The Packers received some positive news on Thursday when receiver Davant Adams, who missed last week’s game with a hamstring injury, was a limited participant during practice. Adams hopes his hamstring will allow him to face the Falcons on Monday night.

Regardless, it seems the Packers ’offense relies more on running behind Aaron Jones, who has run for 303 yards and four touchdowns. He also has 10 passes in 95 yards and scores in three games.
