About 10,000 mink die after a covid-19 outbreak at Utah Fur Farms

Thousands of raised monks in Utah have died of covid-19, prompting the state’s veterinarian to investigate the outbreak, forcing quarantine the affected areas.

State veterinarian Dean Taylor told NBC News that about 10,000 mink – animals known for their luxurious, silky pallets – have died in nine fur farms in Utah in the past two weeks.

He said that in early August the U.S. The virus was found in animals, after being tested positive by farm workers.

Taylor said research suggests that Covid-19 people can infect animals, otherwise moving around is “considered low.”

“All the research suggests that there is no spread from monk-men to humans,” Taylor said.

He said that like humans like Covid-19, the most common symptom for infected mink is respiratory distress.

“Mink breathes with his mouth open, showing discharge from his eyes and nose, and he hasn’t been sick for several days before he dies,” Taylor said. “They usually die the next day.”

Taylor added that the virus primarily targets older pieces, “clearing 50 percent of breeding colonies,” while leaving younger ones unharmed.

According to data from the Department of Agriculture, the university has more than 50 animals on its list, including cats, dogs, hair and lions, which have contracted Kovid-19.

According to the USDA, the organism was found to be susceptible to the new coronavirus after an outbreak in the Netherlands.

Initial searches led to the outbreak of Spain and Denmark, prompting countries to kill more than 1 million minters as a precaution, the Associated Press reported.

No animals were put down because of the outbreak, Taylor said.

He said they are working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USDA and Wildlife Services to train farm workers in more protective equipment and flood control to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

“Once the final test is done, we will make a state plan to prevent the virus from spreading to more farms.” “It’s very easy to stop it from happening, and then stop it from happening together.”
