Aaron Rodgers He says he drank again to help him overcome the shock of Green Bay’s shocking first-round draft pick last April … pouring “four fingers” of tequila after the Jordan Love selection!
Oh, Rodgers also says he sees the writing on the wall, admitting that he is highly unlikely to retire as Packer.
The NFL star made the revelation on Kyle Brandt’s “10 Questions” podcast … saying that once Green Bay chose Utah’s QB with the 26th overall pick, he turned to the liquor cabinet.

“I love Scotch whiskey, but I’ve also been drinking a little tequila lately,” said Rodgers. “And once I got that text message, I went to the pantry, served myself about four fingers, and knew it would be one of those nights.”
Rodgers says he expected Green Bay to come up with a top-tier WR with his first-round pick, observing the LSU Justin Jefferson, State of Arizona Brandon Aiyuk and Clemson Tee Higgins
So when the team left with a QB, Aaron admits that “I was not euphoric“
In fact, Rodgers, 36, says he believes the draft pick will likely mean he won’t end his NFL career at Green Bay.
“Just look at the facts,” Rodgers said of his future with Green Bay. “They traded. They recruited him. I would say they like him. They want to play him.”
Looking at the comparison between when Rodgers was surprisingly chosen towards the end of Brett FavreThe first round race and now … A-Rodge says they are two completely different scenarios.
Rodgers says Favre had hinted at his retirement for years before the Packers took Rodgers away … while Aaron has consistently said he wants to play until he is 40.
Rodgers also said he fell into the Packers’ lap during the 2005 NFL Draft … while noting that the Packers CHANGED from # 30 to # 26 overall to choose Love.
Regardless, Rodgers says he still plans to be cordial to the rookie and assist the QB throughout the process. He even called Love to speak the day after the draft.
“I understand that it is a business,” Rodgers said. “I understand the nature of the business. I am not here defending my place in any way, that is not going to happen.”
“But I understand how the business works.”
