After many conflicting reports about his availability for Thursday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, the Green Bay Packers are officially ready to play for the first time in three weeks, following in the footsteps of Aaron Jones. ESPN Reporting that Jones was expected to be comfortable except for any pre-game setbacks, the Packers have announced that he will in fact be active for the 9th week.

This comes hours after NFL Network’s Mike Gerafolo hinted that Jones would see a big role, or not play at all, despite pushing back. A surprise addition to the Packers’ injury report ahead of the Houston Texans team’s Week 7 Route, Jones missed two straight games recovering from a calf issue, although it initially appeared 8 weeks before Jones was to play against Minnesota. Vikings.

Although Jones is active against the tough 49ers on Thursday, all indications are that he will take part in back work with reserve tires Irwin and Dexter Williams, the latter of whom has joined the practice team. Green Bay, after all, has three extra days left to prepare for Week 10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars – time Jones will fully understand for rehabilitation.

Jones, 25, who exploded in 2019 with 1,084 rushing yards and 16 NFL-leading touchdowns on the ground, is in his contract year with the Packers. While he’s healthy, he’s been a consistent leader in Matt LaFleur’s backfield, with a total of 550 yards from the scrimmage to go with seven touchdowns during the first five games of the season.
