Aaron Boone delivers a bad injury update on Aaron Judge

After Tuesday’s game against the Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone explained the reason he pulled Aaron Judge to a fifth consecutive solo home run. While Judge ran a second base, he showed a slight grimace of pain, but his facial expressions are not uncommon.

The Yankees led 8-0 at the time, indicating that Boone was just resting for future games.

The next day, however, he stated that the judge was dealing with some “lower body”, and he received treatment in the clubhouse after he was pulled over. When asked if he would play against the Boston Red Sox on Friday, Boone said he was hopeful.

For his regular press conference for each game, Boone pressed the time from 4pm to 5pm.

The New York Yankees have enjoyed Aaron Judge the most:

So far this season, Judge has been on fire, placing a .290 batting average with nine homers and 20 RBIs. His .758 drop percentage is leading the team by a large margin and is currently at 30 pace in a shortened 2020 season.

While the injury is expected to be minor, this is what Boone explained on Friday after the matchup against the Red Sox:

According to Boone, the injury was a mild calf strain, per MRI. A Class 1 calf injury should keep him out for a few weeks, similar to how Giancarlo Stanton recovered from the same injury earlier this year.
