A typical Monday, with just one game for the weekend. Here we go …
After 10 catches, a 130-yard big effort Sunday Night Football .l Stage, it’s worth taking a look at Stephen Diggs ’trade now – and why Beans was confident of drowning someone who was seen as flawed in Minnesota at the time. Back in the spring, we moved on to Buffalo’s rapid discovery, returns, and finances, but we only briefly described how Sean McDermott, Brandon Bean, and Buffalo Brass Diggs viewed the culture as appropriate. First, they had something of a mole. Terence Gray, the scouting director at Bean’s College Ledge, was an area scout for the Vikings when Diggs was drafted and during his first few years in the league, a pipeline of how Buffalo saw the receiver at the Vikings facility was found. Second, they had connections with people who had ga ties with Diggs. One was Maryland coach Mike Ley Castle, who recruited Diggs to College Ledge Park and was his abusive coordinator as a trip to his three years. And what came back from all those sources was consistent: trust would be important, and bills would always stay straight with Diggs. But they would have gotten a guy out of the intensity and competitive intensity of the practice of calling Steve Smith back for a handful of Bill staff scouts and coaches in Carolina before coming to Buffalo. And as for whether it puts a rock on the boat, the word came back that if you’re both losing and not seeing that ball, Diggs might be a problem, but probably wouldn’t be otherwise. So Bills added that, seeing his program as willing to invest in that type of player and person, and it’s fair to say that the leap of faith paid off nicely.
While we’re on the bill, one thing I’ve heard out loud is that the organization’s coaches and scouts are winning the cause of defensive coordinator Leslie Frasier for head coaching jobs in the 2021 cycle. In his first go-round as head coach, Frazier was able to take charge of Minnesota for only three years. He made the playoffs in Year 2, but couldn’t overcome Christian Ponder’s decision to take the 12th pick in 2011, and was fired after the Vikings went 5-10-10 in 2013. Frazier, by his part, was beloved by the players there (he received steady enthusiasm after the news of his demise), and by the people in Buffalo. Bills at Frasier was so frustrated by not conducting an interview last year that owner Kim Pegula – who serves on diversity committees in both the NFL and NHL, and has been a staunch supporter of Fraser – decided to bring Frasier there. League meeting last March to meet other owners. Naturally, that meeting was canceled, but these moves were aimed at the people of the Bill Institute, and Pegula and Frasier sat together on the NFL panel on the diversity in the spring. So it will be interesting to see where it goes. There is a strike age against Frazier (he is 61 years old). But my guess is that if teams find out what other coaches and players think about it, they will be very interested. Also, good in Pegula to work to get Frazier in front of other owners. I’ve talked to a lot of black coaches over the last year about an important, sometimes missing part of networking, in which the NFL needs to work to bridge the gap of diversity.
One more on Ig Diggs. There is only one relative. Last year, while the Texans were preparing to move on to Dandre Hopkins, the Hopkins-for-Stephen Diggs deal scandal erupted. The Vikings were not interested for a variety of reasons, (the money was a big one.) Instead,. Minnesota were injured pulling a draft-peak for Diggs, and became the first-round pick Justin Jefferson. Will the Vikings do all this again? A hundred times out of a hundred. Why Here’s the salary figure ahead for the 28-year-old Hopkins, for this year. 7.006 million is: .5 12.5 million, .0 25.05 million, .2 27.2 million, .6 22.67 million. And here’s the next number for 21-year-old Jefferson, who is 2. 2.39 million for this year: $ 2.98 million, 8 3.58 million, 18 4.18 million. During the season, Hopkins has 1,155 yards and 94 catches for five touchdowns. Jefferson has 1,078 yards and 65 catches for seven touchdowns. And that’s not taking anything away from Hopkins. But that doing Show the value of draft selections. Yes, it is more dangerous to trust them than to bring in a proven veterinarian. But the payoff is felt for years to come.
Chase lost a bit in the Chase Young breakout – and we wrote in the MMQB column about the Washington Rookie Big Afternoon how his Boond played again. A couple of people on the football team drew my attention to it on Monday morning, and asked me to dig up the pressure statistics. So I reached out to the good guys at Pro Football Focus L Focus, and they gave me a good idea of the outbreak that Montez is sweating. By 11 weeks, the second-year former first-rounder has the third-highest overall grade (88.1) among league-wide edge defenders, with nine total pressures, three for loss (or no gain) and eight for run defense (the latter two numbers Ranks top 10 on position). And remember, Young is as much a cyborg as he is a pretty cheerful sweater – he ran 0.411 to 260 pounds. Which, of course, made the video an overnight sensation. Sweat 24, Young 21, and both teams spent a combined સામે 9 million against the 2020 top. Throw in all the other first-round defensive linemen, and have a nice little foundation for Ron Rivera to build in DC
Last week, Cowboy QB Andy Dalton had to return to his home in Cincinnati, for the first nine years of his NFL career. But one day passed away, and with time to reflect Did Appreciate the shot for going back immediately after his departure. It was clear when he and I went back and forth on it on Monday morning. “The win felt really good,” he texted. “I was very happy to be back in Cincinnati and see everyone from the players, the coaches, the equipment, the staff, the trainers. I was special to win against a team that has been playing for a long time. Mike [McCarthy] And the players made it a big deal so it means a lot. “Crowds of people have said that in the last 24 hours, but Dalton is one of the really good men. So it was a pleasure to see what a really different chapter of his career was yesterday.

At least interesting to watch the Jaguars shuffle quarterbacks at the end of the game, with Dog Maron returning to Gardner Minshe after just five first landings and 99 yards on starter Mike Glenn’s back possession after Jacksonville, and then on Monday deciding to stick with him. Minju. At the moment, the Jugs are, in fact, one of only two teams alive for the first pick (the Bets have to go beyond the Jets to shoot at them), and currently holding a tiebreaker over the Jets – the power of the schedule is a bit worse (.546 -.599, per tankith on n.com). He gives them a shot at Trevor Lawrence and, worst of all, a 2-1 spread, excluding Justin Fields. So why would they change quarterbacks now? Maron, given the security of her job, won’t be able to worry about 2021. And at this point, he’s done a good job of keeping the bad team at bay, so I trust him that in practice Minshu’s work can be sold to the rest. Locked room or drawer.
The state of the week should be 18. That’s the number Jalen Hurts carries on Sunday against the Saints. Carson Wentz has doubled at the start of any of his careers, having actually set a career-high nine (for 65 yards) against the Bengals in September, and when he came out Wentz’s mobility was seen as an energetic force. 2016. For me, it shows two things. One, what Philly had to do to act a crime for hurts at short notice. And two, how the Saints would have caught a little off-f-guard. The coaches of New Orleans face many more designed quarterback runs on the ground, and a faster game route through the air. The concept, of course, was nowhere to be found. But the way the game was called by Philly’s coach was very different. It will be interesting to see what this looks like in Arizona on Sunday, with the Cardinals having the advantage of seeing an adjusted plan on tape.
• The new Riders defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli is likely to ease a bunch of Vegas defenses – he has been a coach in the past – and the institutional hope is that he will get the youth defense to play quickly. So it will be important for decision makers to see if it helps to get the most out of players like Tryvon Mullen, Max Crosby, Klein Farrell and Jonathan Abrams.
Here’s what Sam Darnold was told if he wanted to be a jet: “I love it here. I love people, I love being here. I have always said that I want to be a jet for life. That decision is not necessary on me. But I think so. The funny thing is, he really has a little bit of control over it. If he can manage a win, he can pick the Jets first overall. And then, for the team, the quarterback decision goes from something simple (Trevor Lawrence Law) to something more complex.
Monday I’m excited to see Baker Mayfield on Monday night, and I think what the Browns fans saw last week was real that there’s at least some reason for hope. We’ve mentioned this in Aaron Rogers’ discussion in the MMQB column, and it’s true that the quarterbacks who play offense make a big leap toward the end of 2011 and straight into the year. It happened with Matt Ryan in Atlanta, Jared. Goff in LA and now Rogers in Green Bay. Maybe, just maybe, something started with those lines with Mayfield last week.
