Two tests were performed to confirm the presence of Rixin. All mail to the White House is sorted and screened at the FSite facility before it reaches the White House.
A U.S. law enforcement official told CNN that investigators are looking into the possibility that the Rixin package sent to Trump came from Canada.

U.S. law enforcement officials said authorities are investigating additional similar packages sent to addresses in Texas that may be connected to the same sender in Canada.
Rikin is a highly toxic compound extracted from castor beans that is used in terrorist plots. It can be used in powder, white, mist or acid form. If ingested, it causes nausea, vomiting and internal bleeding of the stomach and intestines, followed by death by liver, spleen and kidney failure, and collapse of the circulatory system.
“The FBI and our partners, the US Secret Service and the US Postal Inspection Service, are investigating the suspicious letter found on the US government’s mail facility. There is no threat to public safety at this time.” The FBI’s Washington area office said in a statement. CNN
