A new Oculus Quest has seemingly been leaked from all angles, and could be released soon

Earlier this week, we had our first look at what appeared to be a new Oculus Quest virtual reality headset thanks to an apparent shared marketing image on Twitter. Since then, more images have appeared online, including those from the device in the wild and a rumored release date, indicating the headphones could be released soon.

New images released on Friday reinforce that this new Quest may look a lot like its successor, but it could come in a black and white color scheme. Take a look at these images shared on Reddit:

The existence of these units, which appear to be some kind of test device, suggests that the device may come out sooner rather than later.

That earlier period of time was bolstered by Twitter leaker WalkingCat, who shared the first marketing image to appear this week and has shared credible leaks in the past. They posted what appear to be more marketing images to Twitter, and in one of their tweets, they mentioned a mysterious date of September 15, which could indicate when Facebook-owned Oculus plans to launch this new Quest:

Facebook declined to comment on the images or the rumored release date.

The company launched the first Oculus Quest in May of last year, and Adi Robertson said it had a convenient wireless design but was less powerful than wired headphones in its review. However, Facebook has continued to enhance Quest’s capabilities since its launch, and my colleague Sam Byford declared it “the VR headset to get” in May of this year (although they are hard to find in stock).
