A new ‘Fall Guys’ patch has been updated by Nerfing Team Games

Fall Guys can be a relatively simplistic game, but that does not mean that balance patches and bug fixes can all appear the same. The officials sassy Twitter account has just announced that a new patch is coming to the game this week, and there are a bunch of changes and fixes that players are likely to be aware of.

Here is the big list:

If you can not see the tweet:

  • Tweaked round selection algorithm to select only a Team game if the team size can be equal
  • Party members are now first sorted into Spectator mode
  • (PS4) Controller options added, including X / Y axis and sensitivity settings inverted
  • Slime Climb: Players can no longer tackle some of the moving obstacles
  • Jump Showdown; geometry changed to prevent exploitation of gameplay
  • Jump Showdown: automatic panning of cameras
  • Improved In-Store Store Purchase Dialog to prevent accidental selections
  • Consulted the top 5 most common crashes
  • Visual fixes on some of the outfits
  • (PS4) Improved UI performance on non-Pro PS4 models
  • Option added to change to Jump button binding for Japan
  • Trophy / Achievement names and descriptions are now displayed correctly in all supported languages
  • Move speed nerve removed from Yellow Team (do not post this)

Wait, what was that last one?

The biggest change here is probably the first, as there will now be no Team Game chosen if the team size cannot be equal, which is a very big deal, considering that many total number of players are not divided by four in particular, which means we may need to see a many less Team Games. This is actually the second big ‘nerve’ after Team Games, because the game has already made it so that you can not get two Team Games in a row in one session. Team games remain quite controversial, because unlike all solo modes, if you lose, you might not even have to continue a prayer when the rest of your team is just awful. But complaining about your bad team is now kind of a Fall Guys meme, so I doubt Team Games will go away completely.

Slime Climb and Jump Showdown got a few fixes / exploit patches. PS4 has in it now control inversion possible and sensitivity settings which are good. And the UI works better on non-Pro PS4s, which I heard was a complaint. Everything else is relatively small.

We’re set to hear more about Fall Guys season 2 this week, because of course Fall Guys has seasons, it’s a game in 2020, after all. More new games, more outfits, who knows what else? Stay tuned.
