A man who went to work when he was sick is probably the cause of two different Covid-19 outbreaks in Oregon

Glass County officials said last week that a man had deliberately gone to work when he was ill and was later tested positive for the virus.

Two separate Covid-19 outbreaks have been identified, officials said. The first outbreak killed seven people, and hundreds were forced to flee.

The Douglas County Government’s December 17 statement said, “One of these outbreaks has resulted in seven deaths, and the other recent outbreak has left more than 300 people / families in quarantine,” the Douglas County Government said in a December 17 statement. “We can’t even imagine the tremendous remorse these people have just experienced, and we sympathize with them.”

County officials called the incident a “superspreader action,” saying “it’s one of the troubles we’re currently facing.” It’s a twist on the term “supersprider event,” which involves getting a big personal face-to-face at weddings, parties, or religious services where a viral outbreak is likely in the presence of an infected person.

Urged people to stay home and follow other safety protocols if they are experiencing symptoms.

Officers did not share the infected person’s place of employment, or went to work when he was ill.

Douglas County, located in southern Oregon and with a population of about 111,000, has seen a total of 1,315 cases of covid-19 as of Tuesday. This includes people who have tested positive for the virus, as well as people who are thought to be positive.

Seventy people have died in the county due to Covid-19, and nine patients are currently hospitalized with the virus, according to the count’s latest data.

Last week, Douglas County was one of 29 counties in O Reagan that state officials considered a “high risk” on the spread of the virus.
Reg Reagan has reported about 105,000 coronavirus cases and more than 1,300 deaths as of Tuesday, and infections have been on the rise since November.
