Dear NBA fan,
It’s been over four months since the last time we played NBA basketball. Tonight we restart the season with 22 teams in Orlando and try to establish our new normal. And while viewers won’t be there in person, fans are still the heart of our game.
We’re introducing various elements to enhance the live game viewing experience, including multiple new camera angles, improved player and coach audio, a feature in our NBA app that enables virtual crowd reactions, custom alternative streams in NBA League. Pass with stats overlays and influencers calling for action, and video boards surrounding the court with hundreds of fans watching from home.
At the same time, we recognize that this moment is more than basketball. It is an opportunity for NBA players and teams to continue a long tradition of addressing important issues related to social justice.
These are difficult and challenging times, but the NBA is coming back because sports are important in society. We hope that the return of the NBA, along with other major league sports, will enrich their lives.
