The game was canceled after Antoine’s fall, and a limited number of fans at the stadium were asked to bid farewell.
“We don’t have many details to share outside of this,” the Sacramento City Unified School District said in a news release. “Our hearts go out to Emmanuel’s family and the school community in these difficult times. We ask all to give them privacy and time for healing and comfort rather than expressing grief.”
“We are heartbroken by the death of Kennedy High School footballer Emanuel Antwi. We are sending thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, teammates and everyone on સીSCUSKKnedy,” the district wrote in its message.
The first game of the season
Organizers wrote, “After months of waiting for Kovid, the first football game of the season finally came here! He just told his football coach that he finally got his driver’s license. He was very excited,” the organizers wrote.

As of Sunday afternoon, the fund had raised more than $ 27,000, exceeding the target of 27 27,000. The organizers expressed their gratitude and said that they have received “overwhelming” amount of love and support.
“No amount of money can bring Manny back, but it can take a little strain off his mom’s shoulders,” they wrote.
Support for students
A designated shock response team will be available for the school community in the wake of Antvi’s death, a district spokesperson told KCRA.
The team will take further action with them in the coming days to help address the incident mentally and process them, the spokesman said.
The school also sent a letter to the families of the students, stating that the school’s counselors and mental health support staff would hold virtual mourning sessions at Zoom.
Once football practice is resumed, advisors will also be available in person, according to the school district.
