A Heartless Idiot vandalized the Chris Cornell Statue in Seattle

The Chris Cornell statue, which stands outside the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, Washington, has been vandalized by a heartless idiot who painted parts of the monument white.

The motives for this act of vandalism remain unknown and no press releases have been made available at press time as authorities have an advantage over who the perpetrator (s) may be. A photo of the escaped statue, which was commissioned and donated by Chris Cornell’s widow, Vicky, can be seen courtesy of Seattle’s KIRO 7 News.

The criminal act drew a reaction from the Cornell family, who condemned the actions while expressing gratitude to fans who chose to work together in an attempt to clean up the life-size memory of the legendary Seattle rocker to make.

“My kids and I are passionate about learning from the vandalism of Chris’s statue at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle,” Vicky wrote on Instagram.

“The statue is not only a work of art, but a tribute to Chris, his unwavering musical legacy and everything he stood for. It represents Chris, who is experienced not only in Seattle but worldwide,” she continued, adding , “In the face of this hatred and destruction, we are once again grateful to the fans who stood up to support him and showed such immense love. It lifts our hearts to hear that fans brought deliveries and tried the heartbreaking vandalism on to roam. “

Undeterred, she promised, “The statue will be restored. Hate will not win,” and shouted, “Chris is the son of Seattle!”

The Chris Cornell statue was officially unveiled in October of 2018, about a year-and-a-half after the Soundman and Audioslave frontman died of suicide. The bronze replica was painted by artist Nick Marra and depicts Cornell in an iconic, outstretched position.
