Well this project is not as urgent as it was before, with Destiny 2’s Beyond Light delayed until November from September, and yet with all that extra time, I have a hunch that people’s vaults may be even more crowded now.
We are about to start a new expansion with not only new loot, but new and new loot elemental affinity Also, so you will need a lot of space to store new things.
While I know some people are adept at keeping their vaults clean, it’s rarely been me, and I’m constantly at 450/500 or more, if I’m not floating in the 490s. But now with expansion on the way and setting With the sun about to come too, a “proper” vault is more important than ever.
The sunset especially complicates things, and some people have asked me how I’m going through everything to make room. Well here is the best advice I can offer you on several different fronts.
Know your symbols at sunset
Therefore, the symbols you need to know is that all that is from last fall or before is sunset. Again, this does not mean that everything is useless, it just means that it cannot be infused beyond a certain point, which means it cannot be used in higher level activities. That will include more recent raids or Nightfalls or Trials weekends, but it can also include new seasonal content, like what we’re seeing right now with the public Contact event.
So this includes:
Red War – Base Game
Osiris Curse – First DLC
Warmind – Second DLC
Abandoned – First expansion
Black Armory – Season One
Season of the Drifter – Season Two
Opulence Season – Third Season
Shadowkeep – Second expansion
Season of The Undying – Season attached to Shadowkeep
So anything that has those symbols is being set, and it’s obviously a candidate to be scrapped. If the maximum power is 1060 (you can check close to the stats for each item) then it will be at sunset immediately in November.
The “relevant” symbols, things that won’t be sunset for at least the Beyond Light season, are:
Season of Dawn
Season of the Worthy
Arrivals season
That’s. Although you remember, the sunset doesn’t include exotic weapons or armor, so those symbols don’t matter.
Exotics And Pinnacles
If you’re tight on space, there’s really no reason to store exotic weapons or pinnacles that you’re not actively using, because you can easily take them out of collections, since their fixed scrolls mean it’s essentially free storage space for all those weapons. The exception here is if you don’t want to lose treasured murder counters.
Exotic armor can be removed from the collection, but they are basic junk stats. I’ve been saving solid coils for at least one piece of each type of exotic armor, which I am no remove from my vault, in case something comes out polished.
Ancient armor sets
I think I have to accept the fact that legendary armor sets are probably not worth saving for aesthetic reasons – that is, the idea that you might need them to turn them into a transfiguration.
At this point, saving entire armor sets into three classes I’m not using simply takes up too much space. I have to trust Bungie that the transfiguration will be based on what you have in the collections, i.e. all the things that you’ve never found, rather than what you actively have in your vault. That’s not a reasonable request, and in any case, Bungie can force us to win sets again anyway, which would make having things pointless. In short, I don’t see a reason to really save any legendary armor that you are not wearing unless you are actively trying to win a fashion contest.
Letting go of God rolls
I think it was Datto who invented this rule, but if you have a god roll in your vault that you haven’t touched for two full seasons, it’s time to consider letting it go, especially if it is something that will be at sunset. If you’re not using something anymore, good as it is, and then It can’t be used in various activities, right? Really Do you need to hold on to it?
I understand that some things may have sentimental value, so exceptions can obviously be made. I’m saving things like the first Trials of the Nine weapons I got from using Flawless, since it’s a good keepsake and those weapons don’t exist anymore. Or the Word of my Smuggler with 30,000 murders that is setting in the sun, but he has been a good friend. But that Outlaw Kill Clip Outlast that is still stuck at 750? It may be a big roll, but it’s clearly gathering dust and just taking up space.
Obviously everyone has a certain level of comfort that they want to get rid of. I’m not trying to force anyone to do anything, but if you’re looking for space, those are some ways to find it. Happy spring cleaning.
