A great white shark has been filmed jumping into a fishing boat and biting into a huge chunk.
The shocking encounter off the coast of Western Australia was caught on camera by a pair of stunned stunners.
Brothers Lee and Adam Ferguson were fishing for snappers off Carnac Island in Perth on Friday when they noticed the predator stalking their boat.
Adam had seen what he thought was a “big fish” on the Burley Trail: he bait was dropped at intervals to attract fish near the fishermen.
But it soon became apparent that he was a great target who was not afraid to approach and be personal.
They ominously swam figure of eights around the boat for 15 minutes, with dramatic images even showing him ramming the boat and biting the engine, the Daily Star reports.
Instead of screaming in pure, unadulterated terror, Lee yelled at the shark as if it were nothing more than a pesky animal, saying, “Oi! Oi! Go away.”
He then dropped his GoPro, and his hand, into the water to catch the shark up close in its natural habitat.
The result was impressive, with images showing the beast’s jaw fully open and showing its sharp teeth.
“There were a couple of times it got too close, I tried to hit it with the GoPro and I couldn’t move it, so yeah, very heavy, very strong,” said Lee.
The shark’s persistent attacks forced the brothers to raise their anchor and set sail, but the remnants of the rampage were there for all to see.
The ship’s engine, ladder and transducer were damaged in the attack.
Incredibly, Lee said that he never felt insecure around the shark despite placing his hand in the line of fire.
“That was awkward,” he said.
“However, we do not feel in immediate danger.”
The footage comes after a scuba team’s encounter with a large six-meter target was captured by the camera.
