The El Dorado fire in San Bernardino County was caused by a “smoke-producing pyrotechnic device” used at the party, Cal Fire said in a press release.
According to the release, the fire started at 10:23 a.m. Saturday at El Dorado Ranch Park in Eucalyptus and spread north from the park to Eucalyptus Ridge.
By early Monday morning it had risen to 7,050 acres, the Cal Fire incident website shows.
Evacuation has been ordered for the communities of Oak Glen, Yukaipa Ridge, Mountain Home Village and Forest Falls. A evacuation warning is in place for the Yukipa bench area and the Yukipa Community Center is being used as a temporary relocation facility, according to Cal Fire.
According to the website, more than 500 personnel with more than 60 engines and four helicopters have been deployed in the fire.
