A doctor from the Chargers’ team punctured Taylor’s lungs

Costa Mesa, California. (AP) – Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Tyrode Taylor missed last Sunday’s game because the team’s doctor accidentally punctured his lung, according to a person familiar with the case.

The man spoke to the Associated Press on Wednesday on condition of anonymity because of a medical ban issue.

Coach Anthony Lee said Taylor is still not 100% and that colored Justin Herbert will start his second NFL against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Lynn had no timeline about how long Taylor would be out but said the 10-year-old Pete was in the quarterback team complex and worked with Herbert. When asked about his level of frustration with what happened, Lynn said he was not angry with what happened because the mistake was not intentional.

“There were difficulties in the shot but I know the person (who gave it). People make mistakes. It’s something we’ll talk about internally, “Lynn said.

The Herbert Chargers had a surprise starter last Sunday at 23-30 overtime loss To Kansas City Chiefs. Lynn said he couldn’t find Taylor unable to play for less than five minutes before the kickoff.

Herbert said he is realizing he is playing exactly as the Chargers were in line to get an early kickoff.

Lee said he had a reaction to the injection, after which Lee said Taylor was taken to hospital with difficulty breathing. Taylor, who was released on Sunday night, was on Friday on an injury report due to an injury sustained in the opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 13th. Taylor was fired after fully participating in the transaction and taking all the snaps with the first team.

The NFL Players Association said Wednesday it is in contact with Taylor and his agent and has begun an investigation into the matter. ESPN first reported a punctured lung.

Despite what happened to Taylor’s teammates, Lynn echoed in expressing confidence about the team’s medical staff.

“I don’t think there should be any lost faith. I mean, content always happens. “He had done this procedure several times before,” said defensive lineman Linval Joseph.

Tight end Hunter Henry, who has suffered knee injuries in the past two seasons, also said he has faith in the team’s doctors, but was not in good condition.

“It’s not good, and I know not all of us think it’s all good. But we will continue to move forward, ”he said.

Herbert, the sixth overall pick in the April draft, became the ninth quarterback after a merger to throw more than 300 yards in his debut. He was 22 out of 33 for 311 yards and a touchdown, but he also threw a hurdle late in the third quarter that converted into a touchdown built by the Chiefs.

Lynn said she’s excited to see how Herbert does with her first week of practice with the unit. Los Angeles is 1-1 while Carolina is 0-2 under first year coach Matt Rule.

“We put him in some difficult situations last week where he didn’t study certain things.” Lee said. “He didn’t panic and he threw some nice in the game and turned around so he could lengthen the plays. You know, he did some good things in that game, but he wasn’t fully prepared because he didn’t take all the rips in practice.

“I’m just waiting to see him with a week of practice under his belt, and take every single representative as a starter.”
