A dedicated dog walks 60 miles to return to his old home

Cleo the canine must have been a carrier pigeon in another life.

The dog walked 60 miles from his new home in Olathe, Kansas, to his old home in Lawson, Missouri, where he has not lived in nearly two years. She had to cross a river, either Kansas, Missouri, or perhaps both, to return.

Cleo, a 4-year-old farmer, settled on the front porch of the house, surprising the family that now lives there.

Britney Colton saw the dog first, said Michael Colton, her husband, according to KMBC News, a television station in Kansas City, Missouri, not far from Olathe.

“She got out of her car and said, ‘Where did the dog come from?'” Michael said.

Cleo was distant, but Colton had a vet check her out for a microchip, and she had one. Britney Colton recognized the name and said to her husband, “Those are the people who used to live here.”

A week earlier, the owners had posted on Facebook that Cleo had disappeared. They were stunned when he got Colton’s call.

“It is the strangest story. She really is everything to us and to my mother, ”said Drew, who was not identified by the television station by last name. “It feels really good to meet her.”
