A Browns player – not Jeddick Wills Jr. – positive tests for Covid-19; The flight of the jets game is delayed when they do contact tracing

NEWARK, NJ – When Brown left for New Jersey on Saturday for Sunday’s game against the Jets, one player tested positive and his flight was delayed while tracing contact.

They won’t name the player until tracing is complete, but a source said it’s not Jedrick Wills Jr., who was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list Thursday as a close contact with a person outside the facility who tested positive.

Willis, the Browns ’overall pick of number 10 and his early left-hander, is expected to be active for the game.

Browse also shut down their facility on Saturday and is holding remote meetings as they consult with medical experts and the NFL on the next appropriate action.

10-4 Brown, with a chance to beat New York to face the 1-13 Jets at 1pm on Sunday at MetLife Stadium and with a chance to be defeated or defeated by several AFC rivals.

Wills and Practice Squad recipient Ryan Switzer was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list on Thursday when he came into close contact with the same person who was not a member of the Browns organization.

Wills tested negative because he was identified as a close contact, and the Browns were confident he would be active for the game.

That would be good news for the Browns, who have already put a new starter on the offensive line at rookie Nick Harris, causing right-back Wyatt Taylor (ankle). Taylor’s replacement last week, Chris Hubbard, suffered a torn right knee ligament and dislocated knee strain during Sunday’s 20-6 win over the Giants and underwent season-end surgery on Wednesday.

The Browns are already working on the effects of COVID-19 on a weekly basis. His star defensive end Miles Garrett is still battling his way through prolonged effects from the virus and he suffered a coughing fit after last week’s game.

Garrett continues breathing treatment and hopes to stay close to himself through the playoffs if the Browns come in.
