A 1-year-old has returned with his mother after being abducted from his stroller at Gunpoint


Mateo Montufer-Berera was pushed into his stroller by his mother near his apartment in Chambly, Georgia, northeast of Atlanta, on Saturday afternoon, according to news from the Chambly Police Department.

A man got out of the vehicle and went to the mother, showed the gun on her hip and looked inside the stroller, the release said.

The mother managed to grab a gun from the man when the man tried to grab her son. She tried to kill him but the gun did not come out, the release said.

Another suspect then got out of the vehicle, grabbed the child and returned to the car, according to the release.

The mother was able to grab the first suspicious shorts and a piece of shoe, the release said.

An amber warning was issued for the boy and hours later two people were arrested in Carolton, Georgia in a vehicle matching the description of the warning. The bike was injured from inside the car, police said.

Charges against the suspects have not yet been announced and the motive for the motive is not known.

The suspects will remain in custody in Carroll County, according to the release.
