State health officials reported 957 more confirmed cases of COVID-19 and a new coronavirus-related death.
Positive cases represent 9.6% of the 9,978 tests processed since Saturday, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The daily positivity rate, a key indicator of the overall prevalence of the disease, fell below 3% during the first half of June, but has recently increased.
As of Sunday, 48,827 people tested positive for the virus; 9,946 of those cases remain active, while 77.8% of people have recovered from COVID-19.
Overall, nearly 2% of Wisconsin residents who tested positive have died from the virus, for a total of 892 people.
As of Sunday there were 312 people in hospitals with known cases of the virus, 19 fewer than last Sunday. Of them, 60 were in intensive care, according to the Wisconsin Hospital Association.

According to Johns Hopkins University, global cases have exceeded 16 million and deaths reached 647,000 in mid-Sunday. More than 4.2 million of those cases and 146,000 deaths occurred in the United States.
