MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The United States emergency phone lines are back online after a nationwide outcry on Monday evening.
The WCCO first reported the outage at 6:30 p.m., after being warned by Minneapolis police. By about 7:15 p.m., the service was reportedly back online by law enforcement agencies in Minnesota.
At about 8:30 p.m., Minneapolis police announced that a nationwide service has been restored.

Law enforcement agencies are urging citizens to stop calling 911 lines to check the functions, as those calls prevent a real crisis.
The cause of the outage has not been directly identified.
