Last weekend’s selection of free games to play for a few days was pretty hard to beat if you’re an Xbox One owner. But even though there are currently no large number of games to try for free, there are still a few titles free-to-play and free to own on various platforms, including the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 , and PC. Some of the games require subscriptions to other services, while they all require you to create an account somewhere, but one thing they all have in common is that they are all currently available to those who want them.
Xbox typically offers free weekends for their games in addition to the monthly offers of Xbox Live Gold games, but last weekend’s deals have surpassed the usual usage promotions. The Big Gaming Weekend event was live with more than 10 different great games free to play, while Xbox Live Gold itself was also available to everyone, but it was only for a short time.
Now that we’ve moved on to the second full weekend of August, we have some of the same games on the list of free titles as well as some new additions. If you are an Xbox Live Gold subscriber, you are about to reach the cutoff for one of the Xbox Games with Gold games. Some free-to-play deals will end at a similar time, but for the games that are free for players to visit, as long as they stay subscribed to whatever it is about the game, you will have a little more time to demand them.
No matter what platform you are on, there are a bunch of completely free or playable games this weekend. You will find the full list of what is available below, along with details on how to get the games. Expect a new list next week with updated offers.
