88 new COVID-19 cases in the area


SOUTHEAST IDAHO (KIFI / KIDK) – Local health officials reported 88 new COVID-19 cases in the area on Monday.

Southeast Idaho Public Health has 35 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

There are 17 new cases in Bannock County, 2 in Bear Lake County, 5 in Bingham County, 1 in Butte County, 1 in Franklin County, 1 in Oneida County and 8 in Power County.

This brings the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 1122.

Of the 1122 cases, 934 were recovered from COVID-19.

SIPH occupies counties of Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Butte, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida, and Power.

Eastern Idaho Public Health reported 53 new cases Monday. There are 23 new cases in Bonneville, 1 in Clark, 1 in Custer, 2 in Fremont, 10 in Jefferson, 9 in Lemhi, 4 in Madison and 3 in Teton. There are 355 active cases. You can see more HERE.

EIPH COVID-19 monitor level has four categories: minimal, moderate, high and critical. Bonneville, Clark, Fremont, Jefferson, Lemhi and Teton Counties are in the Moderate Risk Category.

Custer County and Madison County are in the Minimal Risk category.

Under the order, social gatherings and events, both public and private, of more than 150 are prohibited. Also, every person in Bonneville County is required to wear a face covering that completely covers the person’s nose and mouth when the person is in a public place and other non-households
members are present and physical distance of 6 feet can not be maintained. You can view the full order HERE.

To help prevent the spread of this virus, it is more important than ever that the public follow the following prevention methods.

• Follow Governor Little’s State Stay-Healthy Idaho Order

• Do face covering of cloth in public places.
• Exercise social distance (6ft).
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Avoid sick people.
• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol.
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your sleeve when you cough or sneeze.
• Do not forget to touch your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Cleaning and disinfection of surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs with a disinfectant solution.
