85 babies test positive for Covid-19 coronavirus in Texas County

Covid-19 coronavirus is not a great way to welcome someone into the world.

However, as the following CBS DFW The news segment shows that so far 85 babies in Nueces County, Texas, have tested positive for the Covid-19 coronavirus:

Nueces County is where Corpus Christi is located. It is unclear how most of these babies are doing well with health. According to Alexandria Rodriguez and Ashlee Burns reporting for him Corpus Christi call times, a six-week-old boy, who had tested positive for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) who ended up dying of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). However, what specific role the Covid-19 coronavirus may have played in the baby’s death has yet to be determined.

These are real, non-adult babies who act like babies. So you can’t blame them for getting the virus. Babies do not ignore public health recommendations, claim that the masks are stifling their freedoms, and post conspiracy theories on social media, such as claiming that the pandemic is a hoax. Babies are not the ones who have not taken enough steps to contain the virus and looked for others to blame. Correction, babies who are less than a year old are not the only ones. Instead, real babies lie down, cry, and burp.

However, add babies to the list of people who are quickly affected by the United States’ inability to contain the virus. Babies are especially worrisome not only because they are cute and supposed to have their whole lives ahead of them, but also because they have a weaker immune system. Weaker immune systems may make them more susceptible to the worse outcomes of Covid-19 coronavirus infections. Their immune systems are like Ryan Gosling in the movie. Remember the Titans. They haven’t realized things yet, and they need time to fully develop and learn from the world around them.

Furthermore, a study published in Nature suggests that babies may have weaker immune systems for another reason. Weaker immune systems can allow good bacteria, like those that make poo smell bad, to enter and colonize your bodies. Of course, if this is the case, leaving the door open this way could also allow for some bad visits.

Since the Covid-19 coronavirus is still so new, there have not been too many studies of what happens to different babies when they become infected. A new publication in the Journal of the Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases It does detail four cases of newborns hospitalized with fever and who have SARS-CoV-2 infections. Two of these babies had so much difficulty breathing that they had to be admitted to the intensive care unit. One of the newborns ended up receiving remdesivir. Although all four newborns ended up surviving, this case series showed that Covid-19 can be much more than a mild illness for babies.

Babies probably won’t raise their little fists and say, “damn 2020,” because they still can’t speak and they don’t have another year as a benchmark. However, adults should know that babies this year may face even more risks and more difficult times than in previous years. Many adult decisions will affect babies, even when babies don’t seem to be directly involved. For example, most babies don’t go to school yet, unless they’re incredibly advanced. However, opening schools prematurely would not only put students, teachers, and school staff at risk, but could also cause students to bring the virus into their homes and subsequently infect babies who may be in the same home.

Therefore, following the recommended public health measures could end up affecting babies, even if you are not a baby, at least in terms of age.
