The NFLPA announced that 72 players were known to have tested positive for COVID-19, effective July 10.
In a data publication called a “one-stop shop” for players, the NFLPA noted the amount of positive evidence and provided statistics on COVID-19 cases nationwide in NFL cities, state-by-state tracking information, and other details for players
The 72 positive COVID tests represent approximately 2.5 percent of the players on the list. However, it is unclear how many players have been tested at the moment.
The NFL and NFLPA continue to work on pending issues related to players returning to team facilities, including financial considerations and testing procedures. The NFL submitted a counterproposal to the NFLPA on Tuesday night, and the owners are expected to have a conference call on Friday.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans rookies are slated to report to work over the weekend, while other freshmen are slated for next week. Veterans are currently slated to report July 28.
