60 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the area


IDAHO ORIENTAL (KIFI / KIDK) – Local health officials reported 60 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday.

Southeastern Idaho Public Health has 32 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

There are 15 new cases in Bannock County, 1 in Bear Lake County, 11 in Bingham County, and 5 in Power County for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

This brings the total to 553 confirmed cases in southeast Idaho.

Of the total of 608 confirmed and probable cases, 439 have been recovered from COVID-19.

Eastern Idaho Public Health reported 28 new cases on Monday. There are 20 new cases in Bonneville County, 7 in Jefferson County, and 1 in Madison County. There are 198 active cases. You can see more HERE.

The EIPH COVID-19 risk level monitor has four categories: minimum, moderate, high and critical. Bonneville and Teton counties are in the moderate risk category.

Clark County, Custer County, Fremont County, Jefferson County, Lemhi County, and Madison County are in the lowest risk category.

EIPH voted unanimously at a meeting Tuesday to approve an order to move Bonneville County to the moderate risk category; which would require the use of masks in the County for the next 14 days.

According to the order, gatherings and social events, both public and private, of more than 150 are prohibited. In addition, everyone in Bonneville County must wear a face covering that completely covers the person’s nose and mouth when the person is in a public place and in another home
the limbs are present and the physical distance of 6 feet cannot be maintained. You can see the complete order HERE.

To help prevent the spread of this virus, it is more important than ever that the public follows the following prevention methods.

• Follow Governor Little Stay-Healthy Idaho’s state order at
rebound.idaho.gov.
• Use fabric face liners in public places.
• Practice social distancing (6 feet).
• Stay home if you are sick.
• Avoid people who are sick.
• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
• Cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or sleeve when you cough or sneeze.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with your unwashed hands.
• Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs using a disinfecting solution.
