50 K Sign Up for Chicago Suburban COVID-19 Portal, Register for Vaccine – NBC Chicago

More than 20,000,000 people have signed up for the Vaccine Portal, launched in the Chicago suburbs, which allows residents to receive the latest coronavirus updates and register for the vaccine.

Lake County health officials created a COVID-19 portal called “Alvox”, which allowed residents to register for coronavirus updates, schedule appointments and vaccinations.

“We are very, very excited and very optimistic that our people are ready and willing to get their lives back with this Covid-19 vaccine.”

Pfister explains that people can register for the vaccine, given their age and any of the underlying risk factors. Officers will then be able to contact them directly when the vaccine becomes available.

According to a publication, Lake County The first shipment is expected to receive 6,000 doses of the vaccine within days of approval from the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Although the Lake County website was the first in the state to launch, Dupage has also launched a similar roll-out plan for its first expected 13,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine.

“We are considering setting up a site and are in the final stages of identifying these sites so that they can be geographically distributed across the county,” said Karen Ayla, executive director of the Dupage County Health Department.

Health officials in Illinois said the general public will receive a monthly dose of the vaccine by 2021, but have not announced official preparations on which groups will be first.

Once the vaccine is found in less sensitive groups of individuals, officials said they will launch a comprehensive messaging campaign, encouraging everyone across the state to get vaccinated.
