James Williams got engaged to Miami once. When he did, he reversed that commitment and, for a long time, it looked like he was playing for the Georgia Bulldogs.

The 5-star ATH that can basically do anything on a soccer field ranks as the country’s number one prospect in that position and as the country’s number 9 general recruit by 2021.
“This is why it has been said that I will not leave Sunshine State of Florida and close my recruitment and sign at the University of Miami,” he wrote. “And I will always and forever represent my city until the day of my death.”
Williams had recently narrowed her list of contenders to the last two in Georgia and Miami. Before that, he had a last three from Alabama, Clemson and Georgia.
The loss is a major blow to Georgia’s hopes of assembling a different type of defensive plug on the defensive field. The 6-foot-5-inch Williams could do just about anything on a soccer field, even catching big fifties as an attacking catcher.
There are many exploratory views that equate the considerable potential here for Williams with a pair of strong defensive NFL game makers at San Diego’s Derwin James and new Arizona Cardinals rookie Isaiah Simmons.
