Five people were injured in three separate shootings over a 15-minute span in the same Brooklyn neighborhood on Monday night, and police are searching for a white car that was seen at all three crime scenes, authorities said.
The shooting began in Canarsie at approximately 6:20 p.m., when a shooter opened fire on a 23-year-old woman on Remsen Avenue near East 91st Street, hitting her four times in the chest, NYPD Chief Detective Rodney Harrison said. at a press conference.
The victim was rushed to Brookdale Hospital by private means and is expected to survive, Harrison said.
About 10 minutes later, three 19-year-olds were wounded in a shooting about two miles away, near Bayview Houses on the Rockaway Parkway, near Seaview Avenue, authorities said.
Doctors responded and transported each of the teens to Brookdale Hospital, where they are all expected to survive, Harrison said.
In the final shooting, a 19-year-old man riding a scooter was hit once in the back about two minutes later on Flatlands Avenue, near East 108th Street, police said.
He was also transferred to Brookdale Hospital and is expected to survive.
Harrison said police are looking for a white car that was seen in each of the shootings.
“The concern we have with these three shooting incidents is that there was a four-door white sedan involved in all of these incidents,” he said.
