Both Kittle and general manager John Lynch released statements after the signing. Kittle’s was a little longer than Lynch’s. Click on the link below to read them.

A good combination
The 49ers duo of general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan came in as the second best general manager and head coach combination of the NFL within Bucky Brooks’ ranking for NFL.com. Only Eric DeCosta and John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens ranked higher. Brooks wrote the following about Lynch and Shanahan:
It took some time for the heartthrob to turn around the franchise’s fortune, but a series of scrupulous moves and clever scheme have singled out the 49ers as multiple competitors in the NFC. Fueled by a D-line loaded with former first-round picks, the 49ers punched opponents in the mouth on defense. Offensively, Shanahan’s wizardry and temporary play-calling enabled the 49ers to run rough on opponents with a potential ground game fueled by castoffs and misfits on the return run. The development of the team’s complementary weapons, including All-Pro tight end George Kittle, has added knockout power to an offense that regularly wins with body blows.
49ers Triplets Rank no. 18
Ali Bhanpuri of NFL.com ranks the best offensive trios (quarterback, backback, pass catcher) in the NFL lead role in the 2020 season. The San Francisco 49ers combination of Jimmy Garoppolo, Raheem Mostert, and George Kittle came in at no. 18.
Bhanpuri wrote the following:
Fans of Niners hit me hard during the team’s Super Bowl run, after I (boldly) predicted that Jimmy G would be on the biggest stage of the sport, leading the team to look for other options under the center of this season … Although it may not seem like it, I think Jimmy G is a good quarterback. One with whom the 49ers can win a Super Bowl. I just do not think he is a great quarterback. Not yet, at least. He makes too many scary decisions (18 total gifts in 2019) in a systemic strategic scheme to limit the number of bad choices available. That same schedule enabled two undrafted running backs (Mostert and Matt Breida) to average more than 5 yards per rush last season. The almost equal distribution of touches on the position makes picking an RB challenging in this exercise, but I opted for Mostert over Tevin Coleman and the resurrected Jerick McKinnon because of Mostert’s incredible efficiency (+0.55 yards above expectation per rush, according to NGS). Garoppolo consumed my word count (as he consumes the 49ers’ salary cap), but luckily I only need five to describe Kittle: NFL’s most complete tight end.
25 predictions
Could San Francisco go 0-3 (including playoffs) this season against the Seattle Seahawks? Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle placed 25 predictions for the 49ers’ 2020 season.

Maybe you shouldn’t clear your Friday schedule yet to celebrate the signing of the tight-lipped San Francisco 49ers George Kittle after a long-term deal. Earlier on Wednesday, it sounds as if the two sides were on the cusp of a contract extension when Grant Cohn of Sports Illustrated reported that the 49ers announced a six-year purchase worth $ 94.8 million on Friday, per a source who tasted him the information. Not only that, Cohn had a lot of details around the rumored contract.
