42 New COVID-19 cases reported in Effingham County Thursday

On Thursday, the Department of Health of Effingham County was notified of 42 new positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.

One individual was admitted to the hospital. The rest are in isolation.

The department is still investigating whether these individuals have been in contact with known COVID-positive cases.

Thursday’s broad age range of numbers shows most of all age groups within our community. The release from the health department states: “This is a clear illustration of the community scattered throughout our province. While schools reopen this week and students move throughout the community, please take precautionary measures: wear a face mask in public, wash your hands, and check your distance. People with COVID-like symptoms should seek and / or seek the advice of a medical professional. “
