A Florida Gators recruitment target is back on the market.
Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star defensive end Tunmise Adeleye de-dedicated from the Ohio State Buckeyes on Tuesday afternoon. He originally put her back in April.
Despite their commitment to the Buckeyes, the 6-foot-3, 240-pointer was still heard from a trio of SEC programs.
Alabama, Texas A&M, and Florida are the three schools that keep in touch, “Adeleye told Swamp247 earlier this month. I am grateful that they keep in touch and believe in me. Sometimes once a child makes a decision, schools give up and it shows that they value me as a player and see that I have talent. I’m glad they’re in touch, but I’m not really looking for them to do or say anything. “
The Gators were able to get Adeleye on campus earlier this year and have several assistants still in contact.
“I’m still talking to Coach [David] Turner on occasion, Coach Coop on occasion, and Coach [Dan] Mullen on occasion. They have kept it basically the same since the day they offered it to me. They told me that this is what will go on after the day of signing with them and they are really confident in my abilities as a player. They feel like I’m a fit for the culture in Florida. They have been to me since day one and no matter where I go and no matter if I am committed, no matter what happens in the process they will continue to push. They understand that I am assigned and they understand that my process is in principle over, but at the same time they are very respectful. They just want to remind me that the University of Florida is still an option for me if I want to take it. Basically saying that they will stick around in the long run. “
Below is 247Sports player evaluation about Adeleye.
Athletically built defensive lineman with thick core and thin ankles. Played junior year round 265 but has dropped 20-25 pounds since. Provides adequate to above average height. No verified wing span, but looks long on the hoof. Frame potential enables possible multi-position adjustment in varied arrangements. Flashes impressive power at the point of attack. A bull in the phone position that can drive offensive linemen in the pocket and stall double teams. Shows strength to punch and shake in the run game. O-linemen must respect his swim suit for pass when running. Plays with good pad level and leverage. Strong approach and follows well. Improved explosiveness as a junior. Active, vigorous hands, yet improving consistency. Will need to add bulk-body bulk to maximize strength vs college blockers. Figures dipped as a junior, but saw more attention from opponents. Can also improve body control, especially in the pursuit. Potential position- and schedule-versatile defensive lineman who could fit on multiple roles and fronts. Legitimate high recruiting with potential term to reach top half of the NFL draft.
The 247Sports Composite, an industry-generated average, currently ranks Adeleye as the no. 4 ranked defensive end in the 20 recruiting class.
