SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Department of Health’s COVID-19 report for Tuesday shows that Utah now has 47,157 positive cases, an increase of 263 since Monday’s report, and five new deaths.
606,516 people in Utah have been tested for the disease and the rolling average of seven days for positive cases is 341 per day.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,804 people in Utah have needed hospitalization for COVID-19 and 134 remain hospitalized.
369 people in Utah have now died from COVID-19. The five new deaths reported Tuesday:
- Man, aged between 25 and 44, resident of Salt Lake County, hospitalized in death
- Female, between 45 and 64, resident of Salt Lake County, resident of Long Term Care
- Female, between 65 and 84, resident of Salt Lake County, not hospitalized
- Male, age 85, Box Elder County resident, long-term care resident
- Woman, between 65 and 84, resident of Weber County, prior to hospitalization
38,555 of Utah’s cases – nearly 82 percent – are considered “recovered.” A case with a diagnosis date of more than three weeks ago that has not died is considered repaired.
