The Orange County Health Care Agency reported 227 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday, September 19, bringing the total to 51,873.
Four new deaths were reported in Orange County on Saturday, bringing the death toll to 1,127. Officials say death statistics in the county are drawn from death certificates or collected during the investigation of the case and the process could take weeks.
The local rate of tests for coronavirus returning Wednesday was 3.9% on Wednesday, September 16, the health care agency reported, with the state deciding for the county in the area to go to its red (significant virus threat) orange. (Moderate threat) level
Orange County will have to spend three weeks in the red or three weeks, or possibly if the trends follow the criteria. Before any level goes down.
However, the seven-day average for new cases of coronavirus per 100,000 people in the county is 4..7, and to meet other state criteria coming to the orange level will need to reach 3 .. 3. and stay below that for two weeks.
In order for a level to proceed, the county must meet the level criteria for both measures for the previous two consecutive weeks.
The state updated its four-color, tiered map on Tuesday and the two counties, Marine and Inyo, went from wide (purple) to significant (red).
Of the 1,127 deaths across the country, 423 were residents of skilled nursing facilities, 77 were in supportive subsistence facilities and one was listed as homeless.
County breakdown of death by age is as follows:
- Age 85 and over: 31% (346)
- 75-84: 22% (242)
- 65-74: 20% (229)
- 55-64: 13% (158)
- 45-54: 9% (99)
- 35-44: 3% (31)
- 25-34: 1.3% (17)
- 18-24: <1% (4)
- Age 17 and over: 0% (1)
An estimated 6,565 new cases of the virus have been reported since August 21.
It is estimated that about 89% of cases have been reported, or 46,598 people have recovered by Saturday. The calculation of recovered people is based on the previous 28-day accumulated case count.
The county reports that a total of 786,298 tests have been issued since the trial began, and at least 8,844 tests have been recorded in the last 24 hours.
The county also recorded 202 patients with coronavirus hospitals on Saturday. He was admitted to the county’s top 722 confirmed hospital on July 14. The county report showed there were 65 patients in the ICU as of Saturday.
Officials insist that the data posted every day is preliminary and subject to change. More information may become available once the investigation of the individual case is completed.
