2,1 test0 more covid-1 cases, Ut deaths reported on Monday in Utah as positive test rates increase


SALT LAKE CITY – The number of Utah’s Covid-19 cases rose to 2,160 on Monday, with four more deaths reported, according to the Utah Health Department.

The Department of Health now estimates there are 50,030 active COVID-19 cases in Utah. According to the health department, the average number of positive cases in seven days is currently 2,716. The new numbers indicate a 0.8% increase in positive cases since Sunday. In Utah, 1,752,324 people have tested positive for COVID-19 so far, with 16.4% testing positive for COVID-19. As of Monday, 6,619 new people had been tested by the health department, an increase of 8,770 from the total number of tests conducted.

According to the health department, a total of 47,3822 UV-vaccines were administered on Sunday, 48,575 from Sunday to Sunday. Doses are given in Utah.   • A Washington woman from Washington County, who was over 85 years old and was hospitalized after her death

Monday’s average total gave Unah a total of 285,633 confirmed cases, with 11,240 total hospitalizations and 1,305 total deaths from the disease. A total of 234,298 COVD-19 cases are now estimated to be recovered, according to the health department.

As Utah’s positive test rate continues to average, the Department of Health is offering a rapid fee-free COVID-19 test across Utah this week, according to a news release from the department. Able to be tested in any clinics, even if they do not have symptoms of Covid-19. The goal of clinics is to make COVID-19 cases more easily identified in the community, including those who do not know they are infected because they have no symptoms.

The Covid-19 news conference scheduled for Monday is not. Utah officials usually provide updates at a news conference on Wednesday or Thursday once a week.

Method:

Test results now include data from PCR tests and antigen tests. Positive COVID-19 test results are reported to the health department immediately after confirmation, but negative test results cannot be reported for 24 to 72 hours.

Deaths reported by the state usually occur two to seven days before their report, according to the health department. Some deaths may be later, especially if the person is from Utah but has died in another state.

The Department of Health reports both confirmed and probable COVID-19 case deaths as defined by the Council State and Territorial Epidemiologist. Death counts may change once case investigation is completed.

For deaths reported as Covid-19 deaths, according to the Department of Health, if the person did not have Covid-19, the person would not have died.
