After getting a really impressive liquid carbon edition and a slight boost in horsepower at the Chicago Auto Show, the Ford GT is receiving a number of cosmetic updates for the 2021 model year. This was announced by Blue Oval in its official account for Twitter
According to Ford, the 2021 GT will get a completely new graphics package with customizable colors, “highlighting features that help deliver 660 horsepower during the most strenuous track sessions.” Here is the tweet:
The tweet also came with a GIF showing three samples of such aesthetic updates. The first of the three is a red GT, which is a shade darker than the current liquid red in the GT’s color options.
The other two are blue and white, although the images included in the tweet are inconclusive at this point; We can’t really see if blue and white are different from Liquid Blue and Frozen White.
However, what is conclusive is the graphics location for the 2021 GT. The stripes appear to be solid, unlike the current twin stripes of the Blue Oval supercar. There’s also a new graphic added to the mid-engine intakes, as well as a contrasting side mirror cap color option.
It is still unclear if these are the only color and graphics options for the 2021 GT, although we suspect there will be more. Ford is likely to announce these exterior updates in an official press release, along with other updates (hopefully), so you can expect to be on the lookout for that.
