The present Ford F-150 Raptor is great. It’s true, but it does not sound quite as intimidating as the original off-road pickup, which grabbed an honest-to-goodness V8 engine.
It does not sound like there is a V8 under the hood of this 2022 F-150 Raptor prototype, but it certainly sounds better than the current truck. The F-150 Gen 14 forum posted a video of the upcoming off-road monster on Friday, and some individuals followed the truck for more than eight minutes.
The video gives us a clear look at the upcoming truck, which could debut later this year. The same evolutionary design is perfectly under the camouflage, but the truck will certainly carry more aggressive clues, except for the completely obvious knobbands.
As for the sound, it looks absolutely more comfortable than the 3.5-liter V6 twin under the hood of today F-150 Raptor, but it would be very clearly cut if there was a V8 under the hood of this prototype. Maybe Ford engineers did some magic to just give the truck a better grin. It will be appreciated if this translates to the production bill.
Among the metal, we have previously reported that the next Raptor will almost certainly be slot sheet fields for a coil spring setup, which marks a major change for the truck and should help make it an even better off-roader. But fear not – Fox shocks will be part of the final product.
