After Mackenzie Hughes scared 59 on Thursday in Round 1 and three of golf stars Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland and Xander Schauffele all shot 7-under 63, brace yourselves for anything that happens on Friday in Round 2 in the 2020 Travelers Championship. It’s not unexpected to get big leaderboards at events with elite fields (and all three tournaments the PGA Tour played while returning in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic have included elite fields), but it’s fun to get the diversity we’ve seen. on these boards
From Phil Mickelson and Sergio García (-6) to Bryson DeChambeau (-5), Patrick Cantlay and Jon Rahm (-4), we see that a variety of players do it in different ways. Others will join them on Friday as McIlroy tries to overtake Hughes for the lead for the weekend and keep his place as the tournament favorite. As low as Thursday’s scores were (averaging 68.5), you don’t want to miss any of Friday’s stocks.
