2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic Leaderboard – Live Coverage, Golf Scores, Updates, Highlights in Round 2

The Rocket Mortgage Classic 2020 could also have been named Bryson DeChambeau Show after 18 holes, as the 26-year-old shot 31 in the back and sat at 6 below, co-leaders Scott Stallings, Doc Redman and Kevin Kisner enter in round 2 on Friday. DeChambeau was the loudest and most aggressive star of all the stars on this leaderboard to open the event, averaging 345 yards off the tee in the last nine and turning several of those opportunities into birdies (with a sprayed eagle). His odds were further reduced after the opening of 66, and he will attempt to distance himself early on Friday when his leading group leaves at 7:45 am ET.

The hunters will include Webb Simpson, Rickie Fowler, and Viktor Hovland, all of whom are within at least four of the leaders. On an easy course with a backtable of nine, that should be an exciting second round. Perhaps most interestingly here, although DeChambeau has been incredible so far in the 2019-20 PGA Tour season, he has not lifted a trophy. In fact, he hasn’t won on the PGA Tour since late 2018. All of that can change with three more days as he had on Thursday, and he has the staying power to make it happen in what has become a show that Must see at The Detroit Golf Club this week.
