2020 NFL Playoff Race, Standings: Rams, Bears, Cardinals Fighting for Wild-Card Places in the NFC


The slate of week 16 games is closing as far as the NFL playoff race is concerned. At the AFC, the Miami Dolphins got the victory they needed to start a four-way tie for the final playoff spot. The Baltimore Ravens won and the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts lost, giving the four teams a 10-5 lead in the final week of the season.

In the NFC, the Chicago Bears need to win in Week 17 to get a playoff spot. The winning playoff between the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Rams will also lock the venue. The Seattle Seahawks picked up NFC West with a win on Sunday.

What to know: The Dolphins made an impossible comeback on the Raiders and need to win in Week 17 to get to the playoffs. Miami is currently ranked 5th in the AFC Playoff Race, although the Dolphins have the same record as the Colts, Ravens and Browns. The Dolphins win the tiebreaker over the Colts and Ravens based on the best winning percentage in the conference conference. The division tiebreaker was used to eliminate Cleveland in the formula as it is based on the Baltimore tiebreaker’s win-win percentage.

What to know: The Ravens are in a four-way tie with the Colts, Browns and Dolphins at 10-5. Baltimore is next week with a win and is currently ranked 6th in the playoff race. The Dolphins win the tiebreaker over the Colts and Ravens based on the best winning percentage in the Colfrance Games, but the Ravens have a tiebreaker over the Colts since Baltimore beat Indianapolis earlier this season. The division tiebreaker was used to eliminate Cleveland in the formula as it is based on the Baltimore tiebreaker’s win-win percentage.

What to know: The loss to the Jets does not end the Browns’ playoff hopes. Despite a four-way pairing with Miami, Baltimore and Indianapolis, Cleveland is in for a win next week. The Browns are currently ranked 7th in the AFC Playoff Race. The Dolphins tiebreaker wins over the Colts and Ravens based on the best winning percentage in the conference games. The division tiebreaker was used to eliminate Cleveland in the formula as it is based on the Baltimore tiebreaker’s win-win percentage. Cleveland finished last on Indianapolis as the Browns beat the Colts earlier in the season.

They need to win in Week 17 because they have lost a tiebreaker with each of those teams and will have to lose one of those three teams to make the playoffs. The Dolphins tiebreaker wins over the Colts and Ravens based on the best winning percentage in the conference games. The division tiebreaker was used to eliminate Cleveland in the formula as it is based on the Baltimore tiebreaker’s win-win percentage. Indianapolis loses the tiebreaker against the Browns and Ravens as the Colts lost a head-to-head match on both teams, making them the 8th-ranked winners in the AFC Playoff Race. The Colts will beat AFC South with a win and the Titans with a defeat. Tennessee has earned a tiebreaker over Indianapolis based on the best winning percentage in division games.
