CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Indians’ 2020 regular season schedule begins on Friday, July 24, when the club hosts Kansas City at the opening of a six-game family home at Progressive Field.
Manager Terry Francona’s team is slated to play 17 of the first 18 days of the season outside the door according to the 60-game schedule released by Major League Baseball on Monday.
Clashes against enemies from the American League Central Division, the Chicago White Sox and the Minnesota Twins highlight the part of the calendar in early August, while a trip to St. Louis closes the month.
The Indians welcome the Brewers and Royals to open September and close the month with visits from the White Sox and Pirates.
As previously announced, each team will play a regional calendar with 40 divisional games and 20 interleague games against the corresponding geographic division.
Cleveland will face teams from the National League Central Division, including Cincinnati, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and the Chicago Cubs, in addition to their traditional enemies in AL Central (Minnesota, Kansas City, Detroit and the White Sox of Chicago).
