2 shots at the Amazon warehouse in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – At least two people were shot Monday afternoon at an Amazon Compliance Center on the north side of Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting occurred around 2 p.m. on Pecan Park Road.

It is unclear whether the shooting occurred on or off the premises.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said two people were injured in the shooting and one has critical injuries.

A photo taken by an Amazon employee and sent to News4Jax appears to show broken glass in one of the break rooms. The employee said it was caused by a bullet.

Emergency crews and crime scene tape filled the fulfillment center parking lot after the shooting.

What appeared to be a JSO helicopter was seen circling the facility and the nearby wooded area.

People claiming to be family members of Amazon employees at the facility said on social media that the employees were locked inside.

JSO is expected to hold a press conference to give more details about the shooting sometime Monday night.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
