186 new cases of COVID-19 among Alaska residents


ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Alaska State Department of Health and Social Services reports 186 new cases of COVID-19 among Alaska residents.

DHSS reports that 578 total nonresidents have tested positive for COVID-19. The total count of resident cases is 2,524.

DHSS reports that the cases recovered are at 817, with 1,687 active cases. Additionally, there are 115 total hospitalizations and to date, 20 Alaskaans have died with COVID-19 since March 2020.

The new case counts are outside the following areas of the state:

  • Anchorage Township (158)
  • Ketchikan Gateway Township (1)
  • Fairbanks North Star District (11)
  • Kenai Peninsula District (1)
  • Juneau City and District (2)
  • Matanuska-Susitna Municipality (4)
  • Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area (1)
  • Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area (1)
  • Sitka city and district (1)
  • Wrangell Town and Municipality (2)
  • Valdez-Córdoba Census Area (1)
  • Western Aleutian Census Area (1)
  • Yakutat plus Hoonah-Angoon (2)
