13 virus deaths, 255 new cases reported in El Paso


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – The El Paso Department of Public Health announced 13 coronavirus-related deaths and 255 new cases on Wednesday.

The death toll is now 252 in El Paso County.

The 13 deaths make Wednesday the second deadliest virus day for El Paso. The previous record of 15 was set last week.

The health department identified the victims as:

· 1 40-year-old woman

· 1 man in his 50s

· 1 man in his 50s

· 2 males of 60 years

· 2 women of 60 years

· 1 70-year-old man

· 1 70-year-old woman

2 males of 80 years

· 1 80-year-old woman

· 1 woman in her 90s

According to the health department, one of the male victims in their 50s was the only victim who had no underlying medical conditions.

There are currently 3,275 known active cases. That’s 96 less than the day before.

Since the pandemic began, there have been 13,807 confirmed cases, with more than 10,000 recoveries.

Hospitalizations decreased once again from 282 to 266. The number of patients in ICUs in El Paso also decreased from 114 to 106. There are 53 patients on ventilators, which is the all-time high.

In the last seven days, on average, 9.04% of the tests carried out in El Paso have been positive.
