Lightning from the string of thunderstorms that swept across the Bay Area early Sunday caused several fires. The map above shows the rough location of some of the larger ones.

3: Heart complex. Four fires at Dear Valley Road and Marsh Creek Road in Eastern Contra Costa County had burned about 200 acres in one hour; two of them were contained. The largest, the Round Fire, started in Round Valley Regional Park and required an evacuation warning.
4: Arroyo Fire. Off Arroyo Road by Lake Del Valle. Burned 50 acres in a little over an hour.
5: Marsh Fire. Near Arroyo Hondo and Oakridge roads, east of Calaveras Reservoir. Had burned by 2 pm 120 acres

7: Brush Fire. Off Brush Road at Highway 17. Drive around 6 p.m.
8: Warnella Fire. Along Highway 1 north of Davenport.
The fires started during the storms that ran between 3 and 8 p.m.
A red flag warning, indicating increased risk of arson, will remain in effect for the Bay Area from Monday morning. A second wave of turbulent weather, likely to bring more lightning, is expected tonight.
